The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies

This is what Tolkien looks like beaten into the ground. With THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF FIVE ARMIES (part 3, for those who haven’t grown weary of counting), director Peter Jackson takes everything you loved about his adaptation of The Lord of the Rings and rehashes it as empty imitation. The result is overblown, overdramatized, overscored, overlong, overextended, and all over the place. But at least it’s finally over. –YSM

About Your Sacrificial Moviegoer

We love to sit in the dark with a big tub of popcorn amid a roomful of strangers. Reports on what we witness there come in two varieties: Bullet Reviews quickly and concisely convey our take on a film, always in spoiler-free fashion; Trailer Trash reveals Your Sacrificial Moviegoer's best prediction on whether an upcoming movie is worth seeing, based solely on the trailer (the short "previews" before the feature presentation).
